How did you get into yoga?

I got into yoga after I moved to Little Rock as a way to mix up my cardio workout and also unwind. I think it’s good to keep that balance.

Where do you practice?

I practice yoga at ZenStudio. They have a good balance between novice and more advanced students so I never feel like I look silly.

How often do you practice?

I typically practice twice a week. I like doing flow yoga in the morning to wake myself up and hot yoga in the evenings because usually, after that class, I don’t have much energy left over.

What’s your favorite move?

Savasana, it’s the closest thing to taking a nap.

Do you have a favorite class?

I really like “rise and flow” yoga because it is quiet and slow-moving, which is the perfect environment for me that early in the morning.

What changes/results can you attribute to yoga?

I am more flexible since getting into yoga. I’ve also noticed that doing yoga between spin or pilates classes keeps my muscles from getting as sore and tight. Yoga also has helped me regulate my breathing during it and other exercises.

Why do you recommend yoga?

I recommend yoga because, with practice, you begin to feel longer and leaner and more flexible. It’s also a great way to unwind before or after a long day.
