Little Rock residents are no strangers when it comes to the sniffles and sneezes during allergy season. In fact, central Arkansas has it pretty bad.

According to the Allergy and Asthma Foundation of America (AAFA), Little Rock is in the top 20 worst cities to live in for those who suffer from allergies. Little Rock has moved up the list from number 19 in 2015 to number 15 in 2016.

The main allergen culprits change throughout the seasons. In the winter and spring months, tree allergens are the main problems coming from a variety of trees popular in the area.

In the summer, the problem allergens turn to grass allergens such as bermudagrass and corn, followed by ragweed in the fall.

While allergies are almost impossible to avoid, the AAFA recommends allergy sufferers to avoid allergens when possible by staying indoors when pollen counts are high and by taking allergy medicines as prescribed by your doctor.
