Sometimes biking and polo just don’t cut it on their own.

If you need a competitive shakeup in your cycling routine, it’s time to break out the mallet.

On most Sunday afternoons and Tuesday evenings, you can catch pickup hardcourt bike polo matches at the MacArthur Park multipurpose courts.

The sport is just like the 2,000-year-old version with riders using mallets to hit a small ball into a guarded goal, but on bikes instead of horses.

As part of the North American Hardcourt Bike Polo Association, this co-ed club is open for anyone to join, and they always welcome spectators, especially hecklers. Read up on the rules at NAHardcourt.com and check in on the Little Rock Bike Polo Facebook page for updates.
