Sip, stretch and sip some more in a beer yoga class.

Life is about balance, right? On any given Saturday at Rebel Kettle Brewing Co., you can put that notion to the test quite literally.

Last summer, instructor Valerie Talburt brought the beer yoga trend to Little Rock, where participants get a one-hour class and a cold glass of beer to sip throughout the session in the brewery’s fenced-in yard

“Beer yoga is the ultimate way to ‘let go’ for a little while,” Talburt said. “The class is a real, vinyasa-style flow where proper body mechanics are taught and encouraged, but with a little bit of a laid-back vibe.”

Participants are encouraged to show up early (it’s first come, first served) and bring a mat, a towel, sunscreen and water. The class is for yogis at all experience levels, with each one getting something different from the practice.

“Beginners can enjoy the benefit of a relaxed, non-intimidating environment to explore a yoga practice, while advanced yogis can enjoy a class that encourages them to not take themselves too seriously. All while enjoying some delicious beers made by some great local brewers.”
